Please Don’t Take Our Porn Away

Well here we go again – several conservative groups including the American Family Association (AFA), which is based in Tupelo, Mississippi, are demanding that Marriott International Inc. to stop offering hotel guests the option of ordering pay-per-view movies with hardcore content – gay or straight .
The AFA has announced that about 47 “pro-family leaders” have signed a petition asking the hotel’s chief executive, J.W. Marriott Jr., for a meeting to discuss their concerns.
According to Marriott’s website, about 3,000 properties in the United States and 67 other countries and territories currently offer these hardcore in-room movies.
These people at the AFA think that they know what is best for everyone, but all they end up doing is making things worse. For example, the AFA announced just last month that it was ending a two-year boycott with the Ford Motor Co. They claim that the company had met most of their “demands”, which included ending generous donations to groups that supported same-sex marriages.
Ford representatives later said in a statement that its principles haven’t changed, but that it has reduced advertising and charitable spending in recent years because of losses in North America. Looking back in their books, Ford lost close to $2.7 billion in 2007 alone.
It really makes me wonder who runs this country you know? A multi-billion dollar company such as Ford being pushed around by a bunch of rapist cult leaders like the AFA. If you really think about it, it’s kinda sad. These pathetic groups think that they are actually doing some good. I, personally, don’t understand what good comes from taking porn away from horny traveling businessmen. Taking porn away from them is like taking a small boy away from a catholic priest, it never ends well!
Roger Conner, VP of communications for Marriott International, said Thursday the company would review the group’s sad little letter and the request for a meeting.
If they [the AFA] can get Marriott to cave, then only God knows what or who they will attack next.
