by Sean K. on April 29, 2008
He’s a model, pilot, writer, actor, entrepreneur, and former Military officer. It sure seems like Reichen Lehmkuhl is in the running for the TREY CRUZ hottie of the year! In a recent interview with Connex24.7, we learn what this hunk has more to his looks. Lehmkuhl talks to us about politics, freedom of speech, modeling and his life!
More pics and an interview with Reichen after the jump!
Lehmkuhl moved from Cincinnati, Ohio when he was 8 years old to Boston. After he turned 18, he went into the U.S. Air Force Academy where he studied for about 4 years until he became an Air Force Officer. During his 5 year reign as an officer Lehmkuhl had gained his pilot’s license. Upon leaving the Air Force Lehmkuhl became a flight instructor and entrepreneur after opening his own Charter service (Tribe Airways).
“I’ve had a fun career in television, including my own show, “The Reichen Show”, have created a jewelry line, “Fly Naked” (available at www.LoveandPride.com), and have written a book called “Here’s What We’ll Say” about all the lies I had to tell to make it through the Air Force Academy as a gay cadet–to avoid the punishments of the ridiculous and backwards “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy of our U.S. military.”, said Luhmkuhl
Reichen also has his eye on politics, as do we all ;]. Luhmkuhl states, “I identify with the Democratic party more so because of their emphasis on human rights and equality. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I like some of the ideals of the conservative party. But my heart overtakes my checkbook. I hope Hillary Clinton wins and, if she doesn’t, then Barack Obama.”

Dear Reichen Lehmkuhl
Hi,
My name is Joseph A. Muzzin I am 27 year old I am gay man live in the Detroit area. I am writing you about Reichen Lehmkuhl book. “ Here What we’ll say”.
I was in the store one day came across his book. I was so eagerly awaiting to tell all of my friend, I bought five copies to give to each of them. It was one of the best purchase I made for me and my friend by far, and I have him to thank. I relate to him is some ways, but one in particular that we both struggle with everyday. I am over the struggle with accepting myself to be one of many in the gay community , but I am still struggle with the acceptance of my family and some friend, and most of all employers where I live in Michigan.
I also have been victim of discrimination. I was working at a local restaurant for about 10 year. At first I thought nothing about it. Because I have had a lot of people calling me names too. It lead up to me getting fired from my job, that’s when I contact the Triangle foundation who helps and represents gay community. Now because of it, I am going though a lawsuit with my previous job of sexual discrimination.
Reichen book deeply brought tear to my eye and it touch my heart in way I never forget.
Can you past this to Reichen Lehmkuhl
Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail.
Sincerely
