Finally, 2009 Oscars was Gay-friendly

I officially love Dustin Lance Black and Sean Penn for their great gay-supporting speech on Sunday’s Oscar ceremony. Penn even went as far as to call himself a homo-lover onstage. What surprised me was that ABC didn’t yank it off the air — yay, ABC!
Black and Penn both gave two tear-jerking speech relating to civil rights and gay marriages. A almost tearful Black gave a special thank you speech to his mother for her ongoing support of his sexuality and a very special shout out to the LGBT community saying that we are all special and “that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you, and that very soon — I promise you — you will have equal rights federally across this great nation of ours.”
‘Milk’ actor, Sean Penn, also gave a very great speech on gay rights. He says that all who voted for the ban on gay marriage should sit back and reflect and “anticipate their great shame and the shame in their children’s eye if they continue that way,†Penn said.
Congrats to these two guys. They will forever be added to my list of heroes — for now. Acceptance speech after the jump.
