SFA students endure hatred, All of ‘em!
by Sean K. on April 22, 2009
Hell, fire, and brimstone! “All sinners are going to hell!” “Homosexuals are an abomination and will burn for it!” This was the message that the students at Stephen F. Austin State University woke up to. Poptrends editor Sean K. wandered across the man preaching his hate message Tuesday afternoon and didn’t really think much of it, that was until the man looked over his way and pointed out proclaiming “that homosexual is going to burn in hell!” Apparently, this was the message that the students at SFA were hearing all day.
The preacher, who didn’t give up his real name, had a permit from the university to use his right of free speech, however, university officials did not expect what he was going to use his free speech for. The university’s police department (UPD) has been placed with the preacher to make sure he doesn’t harm the students. After speaking with a police officer, Sean found that the officers are more on the student’s side even though they have to be impartial.
The preacher and his associate do not belong to any one church so they travel to different locations trying to spread the word of Jesus, however, none of the students have been informed rather than offended from the message that he had.
“Buddists do not believe in Jesus so they are going to burn in hell!”
“You sorority girls are going to hell for having pre-marital sex and the drink!”
These were some of the messages he had to give the students.
University officials have tried everything they can think of to remove the man from campus but he is standing in the area that was established solely for free speech. He has a permit to stay on campus until 5 o’ clock then he will be removed from the campus.

I hope this guy doesn’t think he is saved from hell after thinking he has the Almighty authority of making judgements for god to any one individual. That is something that God himself will do.
Asshole.

wow I’m surprised people would go through great lengths to spread the word of a man. and where do he get off insulting people whether than just helping them. i know I’m not going to join his religion now for sure. I’m pretty sure he has had a stick up his butt before. I’m sure glad Sean didn’t get physically hurt. be strong people. we will make it through this one day at a time.

I know this is hard to say and accept, but it is people like him who help the gay/civil rights movement. When people see how ridiculous and judgmental their ignorance is, it allows everyone to see that we are not that bad. These accusations of burning in hell help individuals realize that they are extreme statements that should not be thrown on anyone. And like Jesus said He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Right! So these guys are saying that they are not sinners!?
If they say they are making Jesus a liar and the Truth is not in them. That means they are not Christians, but simply bigots cherry picking verses to keep their little homogenous society kidding itself.
I might want to remind them also that Jesus said we are to love our neighbour as ourselves – after loving God that is.
But i preach to the converted…
i need a pulpit…
and a lie down…
and to love some more people…
and a large Gin…
anyone for a massage?

Religious people like that are mentally ill. Jesus also said Judge not lest ye be judged. There’ll be lots of preachers in hell!
