UPDATE: British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life. The 40-year-old committed suicide just days after the death of his mother, Joyce, last week. [Source]

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen has died, his publicist says. His office confirmed to the BBC that Mr McQueen, 40, was discovered at his London home this morning.

Paramedics called to the Mayfair property pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

A statement said his family were “devastated” at the “tragic news”, and added that they shared “a sense of shock and grief”.

A former British Designer of the Year winner, London-born Mr McQueen started his career as an apprentice in Savile Row, where he learned how to make jackets at Gieves and Hawkes.

Born in the East End of London, the son of a taxi driver, McQueen started making dresses for his three sisters at a young age and announced his intention of becoming a fashion designer. He said that one of his earliest memories was from around the age of 3 when he drew a picture of a dress on a piece of bare wall which had been exposed by peeling wallpaper in the council house where his family lived. McQueen jokingly called it his first design sketch.

Career

McQueen left Rokeby School at 16, landing himself an apprenticeship with Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard, then working for Gieves & Hawkes and the famous theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans. Whilst on Savile Row, McQueen’s clients included Mikhail Gorbachev and Charles, Prince of Wales. At the age of 20, he spent a period of time working for Koji Tatsuno before travelling to Milan, Italy and working for Romeo Gigli.

McQueen returned to London in 1994 and applied to London’s most prestigious fashion school, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design to work as a pattern cutter tutor. Due to the strength of his portfolio he was persuaded by the Head of the Masters course to enrol on the course as a student. He received his Masters degree in Fashion design and famously, his graduation collection was bought in its entirety by influential fashion stylist Isabella Blow, who was said to have persuaded McQueen to change his name from Lee to Alexander (his middle name) when he subsequently launched his fashion career.

Design history

Alexander McQueen’s early runway collections developed his reputation for controversy and shock tactics (earning the title “l’enfant terrible” and “the hooligan of English fashion”), with trousers aptly named “bumsters”, and a collection entitled “Highland Rape”. McQueen was known for his lavish, unconventional runway shows, such as a recreation of a shipwreck for his spring 2003 collection, spring 2005’s human chess game and his fall 2006 show, Widows of Culloden, which featured a life-sized hologram of supermodel Kate Moss, dressed in yards of rippling fabric.

Givenchy appointment

The president of LVMH, Bernard Arnault caused a stir when he instated McQueen as head designer at Givenchy in 1996, succeeding John Galliano. Upon arrival at Givenchy, McQueen insulted the founder by calling him ‘irrelevant’. Thus, his first couture collection with Givenchy was unsuccessful, with even McQueen telling Vogue in October 1997 that the collection was “crap”. McQueen toned down his act at Givenchy, but continued to indulge his rebellious streak, causing controversy in Autumn 1998 with a show which included car-robots spraying paint over white cotton dresses, and double amputee model Aimee Mullins striding down the catwalk on intricately carved wooden legs. McQueen stayed with Givenchy until March 2001, when the contract he said was “constraining his creativity” was ended.

Accomplishments

Some of Alexander McQueen’s accomplishments included being one of the youngest designers to achieve the title “British Designer of the Year”, which he won four times between 1996 and 2003. He was also awarded the CBE, as well as being named International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards. December 2000 saw a new partnership for McQueen with Gucci Group acquiring 51% of the company, and McQueen serving as Creative Director. Plans for expansion included the opening of stores in London, Milan, and New York, and the launch of his perfumes Kingdom, and more recently My Queen. In 2005, McQueen collaborated with Puma to create a special line of trainers for the shoe brand.

McQueen became the first designer to participate in MAC’s newest promotion: cosmetic releases created by fashion designers. The collection, McQueen, was released on 11 October 2007 and reflects the looks used on the Autumn/Winter McQueen catwalk. The inspiration for the collection was the Elizabeth Taylor movie Cleopatra, and thus the models sported intense blue, green, and teal eyes with strong black liner extended Egyptian-style. McQueen handpicked the makeup.

By the end of 2007, Alexander McQueen had boutiques in New York, London, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas. Grammy winning trend setter Rihanna is one of the many famous celebrities that frequently wears Alexander McQueen, often seen wearing the pieces of clothing to events. Another is Lady GaGa, whose unique style often incorporates Alexander McQueen pieces in her music videos. As of 14 July 2008, the Alexander McQueen internet store has launched on the company website, allowing shoppers to purchase ready-to-wear and accessories online.

Dickenson has been granted a discretionary leave of absence by his employer, Dallas-based AT&T Inc., so he can care for the ailing Sugg, who suffered a debilitating stroke in September.

AT&T’s decision came after an article in last week’s Dallas Voice drawing attention to the company’s initial refusal to grant Dickenson the same leave that a married, heterosexual employee would receive under the federal Family Medical Leave Act.

I don’t know whether to be excited or if I rather gawk at the stupidity of the U.S. government. In a statement released Monday by the Press Secretary of The White House, President Barack Obama declared June 2009 as national LGBT month.

What exactly does that all entail?

It means that we have the honor of one damn month to be all out and Gay and then the rest of the year we should close our big fat gay mouth. I don’t want to sound like a ungrateful dike, but if the issues of inequality are still here, one month of pride will not do anything to help fix the issues of civil rights that has plagued us for decades.

What we need Mr. Obama is for you to draft a federal non-discrimination policy so those hicks in kansas can learn to calm their Westboro asses down.

Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.

LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country’s response to the HIV pandemic.

Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.

My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security.

We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.

Hell, fire, and brimstone! “All sinners are going to hell!” “Homosexuals are an abomination and will burn for it!” This was the message that the students at Stephen F. Austin State University woke up to. Poptrends editor Sean K. wandered across the man preaching his hate message Tuesday afternoon and didn’t really think much of it, that was until the man looked over his way and pointed out proclaiming “that homosexual is going to burn in hell!” Apparently, this was the message that the students at SFA were hearing all day.

The preacher, who didn’t give up his real name, had a permit from the university to use his right of free speech, however, university officials did not expect what he was going to use his free speech for. The university’s police department (UPD) has been placed with the preacher to make sure he doesn’t harm the students. After speaking with a police officer, Sean found that the officers are more on the student’s side even though they have to be impartial.

The preacher and his associate do not belong to any one church so they travel to different locations trying to spread the word of Jesus, however, none of the students have been informed rather than offended from the message that he had.

“Buddists do not believe in Jesus so they are going to burn in hell!”

“You sorority girls are going to hell for having pre-marital sex and the drink!”

These were some of the messages he had to give the students.

University officials have tried everything they can think of to remove the man from campus but he is standing in the area that was established solely for free speech. He has a permit to stay on campus until 5 o’ clock then he will be removed from the campus.

We do not like to post about sad stories, but this one just hit us at the heart. It’s a damn shame that in this day and age that people can be taunted and abused over the most little thing.

Carl, a junior at New Leadership Charter School in Springfield who did not identify as gay, would have turned 12 on April 17, the same day hundreds of thousands of students will participate in the 13th annual National Day of Silence by taking some form of a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) bullying and harassment at school. The other three known cases of suicide among middle-school students took place in Chatham, Evanston and Chicago, Ill., in the month of February.

“Our hearts go out to Carl’s mother, Sirdeaner L. Walker, and other members of Carl’s family, as well as to the community suffering from this loss,” GLSEN Executive Director Eliza Byard said. “As we mourn yet another tragedy involving bullying at school, we must heed Ms. Walker’s urgent call for real, systemic, effective responses to the endemic problem of bullying and harassment. Especially in this time of societal crisis, adults in schools must be alert to the heightened pressure children face, and take action to create safe learning environments for the students in their care. In order to do that effectively, as this case so tragically illustrates, schools must deal head-on with anti-gay language and behavior.”

Two of the top three reasons students said their peers were most often bullied at school were actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender expression, according to From Teasing to Torment: School Climate in America, a 2005 report by GLSEN and Harris Interactive. The top reason was physical appearance.

“As was the case with Carl, you do not have to identify as gay to be attacked with anti-LGBT language,” Byard said. “From their earliest years on the school playground, students learn to use anti-LGBT language as the ultimate weapon to degrade their peers. In many cases, schools and teachers either ignore the behavior or don’t know how to intervene.”

Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBT youth (86.2%) reported being verbally harassed at school in the past year because of their sexual orientation, nearly half (44.1%) reported being physically harassed and about a quarter (22.1%) reported being physically assaulted, according to GLSEN’s 2007 National School Climate Survey of more than 6,000 LGBT students.

In most cases, the harassment is unreported. Nearly two-thirds of LGBT students (60.8%) who experience harassment or assault never reported the incident to the school. The most common reason given was that they didn’t believe anything would be done to address the situation. Of those who did report the incident, nearly a third (31.1%) said the school staff did nothing in response. While LGBT youth face extreme victimization, bullying in general is also a widespread problem. More than a third of middle and high school students (37%) said that bullying, name-calling or harassment is a somewhat or very serious problem at their school, according to From Teasing to Torment. Bullying is even more severe in middle school. Two-thirds of middle school students (65%) reported being assaulted or harassed in the previous year and only 41% said they felt very safe at school.

Carl’s suicide comes about a year after eighth-grader Lawrence King was shot and killed by a fellow student in a California classroom, allegedly because he was gay.

GLSEN recommends four simple approaches schools can take to begin addressing bullying now.

Said Walker in the Springfield Republican: “If anything can come of this, it’s that another child doesn’t have to suffer like this and there can be some justice for some other child. I don’t want any other parent to go through this.”

Last week was dreadfully bloody for gays in the other half of our hemisphere. Six innocent men were shot to death by their tribe members in two separate incident for being homosexual, according to CNN.

India, with a more positive light, announced that they will be hosting the Bangalore Queer Film Fest 2009. The festival will run from April 10 – 11, and will provide the community an avenue to discuss its domestic issues and engage in a public dialogue.

“The film festival was last held in 2004. Since then nothing of such huge scale has been organized for the community. We hope that the film festival and the gay pride rally to be held this year will bring greater participation and space for discussion,” says Good as You (GAY) member Siddharth Narrain.

Cops tracked down the kid through Weber’s cell phone and email records. Weber had apparently placed a Craigslist ad looking for rough sex. Katehis, a Satan-loving teen with a knife fetish and a girlfriend, answered the craigslist post after the newsman agreed to pay him $60 bucks — boy, this is some cheap ass prostitution!

Katehis orginally told police that “Weber pulled a knife on him, he took it and stabbed the former radio newscaster.” Hmm, but how would that explain how Weber ended up stabbed dozens of times, with his ankles bound with duct tape. On Wednesday, March 25, lesbian/gay/bi/trans activists and allies will leave Berkeley, California for a 100-mile walk to the state Capitol in Sacramento. The march kicks off the day before with a short march from San Francisco City Hall to the State Supreme Court building, to bring attention to the lawsuit to appeal Proposition 8. Opening arguments in the case began yesterday.

Marchers hope to build bridges with local communities along the way and enlist former antagonists to help repeal the ban on same-sex marriages. The march is initiated by the direct action group, One Struggle One Fight, and supported by a range of organizations including the LGBT labor alliance Pride At Work as well as And Marriage For All, which coordinated No On 8 outreach among LGBT people of color.

“We’re all oppressed,” says Janine Carmona, 22, one of the lead organizers for the march. “We need to put an end to the divide and conquer scapegoating which sprang up in the aftermath of Prop. 8’s passage. If we really listen to one another, we’ll realize that we are all struggling for a better society.”

So far, more than 50 people from 10 cities and towns are signed up to participate in the march. One of them is Robert Moore, a 28-year-old Mormon. “As a gay Mormon, I felt like an outsider in the gay community and the Mormon Church after the passing of this very unconstitutional and hateful proposition,” said Moore. “I encourage everyone that wants to see equal rights for ALL to join us in this march and show that we will not be divided.”

The group will walk through both large and small cities on the way to the capital, entering bustling suburbs like Pleasant Hill and small Delta towns such as Locke. Marchers are inviting local communities to come and dialogue with them in the evenings. The planners will meet with friendly organizations along the route and invite people to join them anywhere on the route for an hour, a day or the entire march.

The march will culminate in a day of action in Sacramento on Monday, March 30, to demand repeal of Proposition 8 and spotlight other issues such as health care and immigration rights.

“Our march is not only about gay marriage,” said Kelly Rivera Hart, a member of the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee. “We want to extend a hand in friendship to all communities struggling for social justice.”

Merino was found guilty in September 2008 and sentenced to seven years in prison. However, under a complex plea deal, he will be able to seek a reduced sentence.

The 25-year-old had admitted sexually penetrating the corpse of a 92-year-old woman at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck. A hospital security guard caught him in the act.

“It was a life-and-death situation,” he insists of twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace in November 2007.

Now court papers show how the Quaids have reached a $750,000 settlement with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The settlement allows Cedars-Sinai to admit no wrongdoing – and also leaves an opening for the Quaids to seek damages on behalf of their children, with the settlement being for the parents’ damages. The documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday show that the Quaids initially sued drug maker Baxter Healthcare Corp. in Illinois over the drug’s packaging, but that that case has been dismissed. The petition filed Monday indicates Baxter may also sue Cedars-Sinai, which allegedly administered too much Heparin to several patients in November 2007, including the Quaids’ twins.

The man accused of killing members of Jennifer Hudson’s family testified Wednesday that he was angry that the star’s sister was dating another man, which prompted him to kill, a court heard.

William Balfour had previously warned Julia Hudson he would harm her family if she dated the other man, prosecutors claim. And on the day of the killings he allegedly again warned his estranged wife about dating the man, after seeing a birthday gift from him. The details emerged as Balfour appeared in court in Cook County, Illinois.

At the hearing Judge Raymond Myles denied bail to 27-year-old Balfour, who is accused of murdering Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson, her sister Julia Hudson and her nephew, Julian King.

The women were found shot to death in their home in Englewood, Illinois, on October 24.
King, 7, was found shot to death three days later in an SUV in the city.

Every 10 seconds, someone in the world dies from AIDS. As World AIDS Day approaches, The North Texas HIV Service Providers Council is raising awareness about the disease and the virus that causes it with a day-long event on December 5 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

“AIDS is a pandemic that knows no bounds,” said Raeline Nobles, executive director of AIDS Arms, Inc. and chair of this year’s event. “World AIDS Day is the largest worldwide initiative designed to raise awareness, remember the millions who have lost their lives to AIDS and celebrate those who continue their struggle with the disease.”

Comprised of 10 HIV/AIDS service organizations from across North Texas, the Council is welcoming the public to visit the free health and information fair which will feature a variety of local, regional and national organizations. Patrons will also have the opportunity to view panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

In addition, the event will include a special luncheon beginning at noon, featuring keynote speaker Jeanne White-Ginder, mother of Ryan White and national advocate for people living with HIV and AIDS.

The passing of Prop 8 — which bans gay marriages — caused a week long protest in California which has since spread to cities like New York City which brought out an incredible estimated 10,000 protesters. Whoopi was even present at the rally and talked about it on “The View.”

Why are the hot ones always the crazy one? First their was Anthony Merino who loves dead bodies and now this guy.

Anthony Badalamenti, who helped a man lose 186 pounds on the reality show “The Biggest Loser” in 2007, is charged with second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. The 31-year-old bodybuilder of Merrick, N.Y., was being held on $100,000 (USD) bond or $50,000 cash.

Badamenti also has a live-in girlfriend, Jessica Muniz, 29, who faces the same charges.

Founder Tim Gill said that he will match all contributions dollar for dollar to protect same-sex marriage in California.

“Proposition 8 needs all of our support to be defeated and protect marriage for gays and lesbians not just in California, but across the country. This amendment would eliminate the equal treatment of all Californians and write discrimination into the state constitution,” Gill said.

Homosexuality is illegal in Nigeria, and those suspected of being gay can be jailed or worse. Jane was already once detained in Nigeria. Since arriving in Canada, Jane has given birth to a daughter who is now 18 months old. If deported, Jane will have to bring her daughter out of the country as well.

I guess all we can say at this point is we hope that Nigeria doesn’t follow the Gambian King and order the “off with their heads” game.

Duty said he was behind the bar when the brawl broke out on the bar’s deck between several locals and the Hulseys. Both Duty and bartender Sean McGlothlen, 21, of Greeley, who was working the night of the fight, said Kell Hulsey threw the first punch. ‘The fact that he is going out and starting a bar fight is really disturbing,’ McGlothlen said. ‘It scares me that he is allowed to carry a badge.’ The fight took place on a small wooden deck connected to the dimly lit bar lined with posters and filled with tables and two pool tables. The night of the fight, the bar, which connects to a karaoke room and restaurant, had about 100 people in it, Duty said. During the altercation, Daniel Hulsey, who was later arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, took a pint glass and smashed it into Carter’s head, Duty said. What the boycott is all about
It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars. McDonald’s has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.

Blind seven-year-old Mohammed Atif was brutally tortured and murdered last week for not reading fast enough not memorizing the Koran.

Atif was studying to be a Hafiz-e-Quran, or great scholar of the Koran who is given great amounts of respect and reverence.

The parents of the boy claim that they simply “didn’t believe” all the reports and allegations of abuse and mistreatment from their son, and pushing him onward so that he would complete his goal. “We thought he was making the stories up like kids usually do to avoid going to school,” said his mother, Gulzar Bibi, about the incident.

Qari Ziauddin, Atif’s former instructor, allegedly hung the seven-year-old boy from a ceiling fan, leaving him there for an hour, and brutally beat him afterward. Police claim that coup de grâce was given when he cut the rope the boy was hanging from by his feet, making the boy fall head first onto the ground.

“We punish students who don’t learn their lessons…We used to get similar beatings when we were studying in the same schools. It is not uncommon.”

A conservative legal group asked the California Supreme Court on Thursday to put off finalization of its decision legalizing same-sex marriage until voters got a chance to weigh in.

The Arizona-based Alliance Defense Fund wants the ruling stayed until November, when voters will probably encounter a ballot measure that would amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage. That amendment would overturn the justices’ ruling.

The state will apparently suffer “Great public harm and mischief” according to a paper that was submitted to the court Thursday if it began allowing same-sex marriages on June 16, as originally planned.

“The people of California have a constitutional right to vote on marriage, and we trust the high court will respect the democratic process,” said Defense Fund senior counsel Glen Lavy, who argued before the court for maintaining the state’s one-man, one-woman marriage laws.

Quebec police are investigating the apparent suicide of 36-year-old Jeffrey Lalonde in the medium-security Leclerc Institution in Laval, Que. Monday.

Lalonde was sentenced to life in prison for the 1989 slaying of 33-year-old Alain Brosseau, who was thrown head first off the Alexandra Bridge to his death as he walked home from a late night shift as a waiter.

He was walking across the bridge to his Quebec home when Lalonde and three others attacked him. They stole a ring and $80 before throwing him to his death.

Witnesses told court Lalonde told Brosseau ‘I like your shoes’ just before letting go of his ankles.

Earlier this week, anti-gay groups tried to get a court to rule against the march, Romania’s fifth annual gay festival, but the court quickly denied their request.

However, the march did not go silently. Two opposing assemblies of demonstrators were held ahead of the parade. At one, members of a far-right group chanted “Romania does not want you” in a protest they said was “against sin”.

Romania decriminalised homosexuality in 2001, but gay people often face hostility in this largely conservative country of 22 million where the powerful Orthodox church views homosexuality as a sin and a disease.

Police said the gay rights march passed off without incident.

Walker, in a letter addressed to faculty and staffs at the High School declared his reasons for resignation, which was obtained by WIS News 10 Columbia, which read:

“The formation of this club conflicts with my professional beliefs in that we do not have other clubs at Irmo High school based on sexual orientation, sexual preference, or sexual activity. In fact our sex education curriculum is abstinence based. I feel the formation of a Gay/Straight Alliance Club at Irmo High school implies that students joining the club will have chosen to or will choose to engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex, opposite sex, or members of both sexes.”

Someone needs to slap this fool in the face. Is he mixing up his religious values with “professional” belief? If I am not mistaken is it not the job of these people to instill education?

Walker said because of his “professional obligations” he will continue to serve the school until the end of the next school year.

Regardless of his “professional beliefs” however, he says “It is very important to me that the club sponsor and all students who join this club receive Golden Rule treatment from everyone.”

In its press release the District stated, “the federal Equal Access Act stipulates that if a school has permitted the formation of any non-curricular clubs, discrimination against the establishment of a new club based on its purpose and viewpoint is prohibited.

Mehdi Kazemi, 19, came to London to study English in 2005. A few months later he received word that his boyfriend back in Iran was arrested and charged with sodomy and hanged.

Kazemi applied for asylum last year but his application was rejected by British authorities, as was his application by the Dutch authorities. It was only in March that the British government decided to reconsider his application due to “new circumstances”.

The UK Border Agency said Tuesday it had decided to grant him asylum.

“We keep cases under review where circumstances have changed and it has been decided that Mr. Kazemi should be granted leave to remain in the UK based on the particular facts of this case,” said a spokesman.

Liberal Democrat lawmaker Simon Hughes, who championed the Iranian’s case, welcomed the decision.

“As I have argued over the last 18 months, the Home Office should not send gay and lesbian people back to countries where they will be at risk of persecution, torture or death.”

Suman Singh, 25, was arrested on May 11th for allegations of murder after her partner Anita Singh, 24, spilled the beans to police.

Pastor Dawn Hutchings says about 50 clergy from across the country will celebrate the ordination of Lionel Ketola this Friday in Newmarket, Ont.

Hutchings says the ordination is the first of its kind for a Canadian Lutheran church.

Still, Bishop Michael Pryse has warned that the ordination is a “serious breach” and could do “irreparable damage” to the fabric of the national church body.

Parent Lutheran bodies in both the U.S. and Canada require that ministers who identify as gay remain celibate.

But last summer, an assembly of Evangelical Lutherans in the U.S. asked its bishops not to fire gay and lesbian ministers who violate the rule.

California will become the second state to allow gay marriage next to Massachusetts. Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Connecticut permit civil unions,

Seven other jurisdictions around the world have legalized same-sex marriage: Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.

So, long story short – the gay ladies get to keep their rights of being called married – WOOO!

The court commented on the case, saying that if there is a desire to change the legal recognition of marriage, then to “take it up with the legislature” but the court will continue to do as it sees fit.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking: “he probably was just waving and didn’t give two shits who he was looking at” or that “he was just being nice because the cameras were there.”

Chances are you’re probably right – but hey we’re Catholic; we don’t exactly get a lot of breaks here so we’ll take what we can get.

Many Gay members of the Catholic church hope that this is the beginning of a bridge to unify its congregation, gay or straight, under the umbrella that is lovingly known as “God’s Divine Will.”

Of course this is naturally a hell of a long shot since the church has had repeated reports that calls homosexuality an ‘”objective disorder” and an “intrinsic moral evil.”

Unfortunately, a great deal of the Homosexual community has lost their faith and no longer dabble in Pious affairs such as being “married by the church.” So although this would presumptuously be a great victory for many, there would be a great deal of those who would simply fall under the “Lost Souls” category.

Got to love it – you can be fat or skinny, tall or short, black or white (or Asian); hell even gay or straight, but if you’re not on the same page with God, you’re not on the same page as heaven. Of course, I’ve studied more religions than the years I’ve been alive so I’m not exactly worried about my salvation – I can pray in Hebrew, Cantonese, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Latin. If it does in fact come down to a realization of Salvation, somebody is bound to like my Gay ass.
